Bob Mason, P.E. graduated with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and Master of Architectural Engineering degrees, with a Structural Systems Option in both, from The Pennsylvania State University. He is currently a structural repair and restoration engineer for SK&A, a consulting structural engineering firm working in the greater Washington, DC metro area. Professional engineering services include: design and development of new structures and repair and renovation of existing structures; due diligence surveys of existing building or garage structures prior to or after purchase including a 5- or 10-year capital expenditure planning budget; construction administration of repair and renovation construction work including vetting potential contractors, managing the contract bid and award process, writing the contract, and testing and inspecting the repair and renovation work. Bob's representative projects include: the Tivoli theatre restoration in Columbia Heights; 919 F St. renovation and expansion in Penn Quarter; 9th and N Street mixed-use development in Mt. Vernon; 1900 Half Street near the baseball stadium; Immaculate Conception School renovation in Mt. Vernon; Naylor Road apartments renovation in SE; and the Heritage Foundation expansion in Capitol Hill.
